Marcel Duchamp

Marcel Duchamp
Fountain 1917

This work marks the change that happened to the art world, and how Duchamp help formed the art world as it is today. This is a replica of the original work, the original no one knows what happened to it but it was last.

This concept of the readymade was of Duchamp's creation, this wasnt the first time he had played around with readymade items as he did the bicycle of a stool in 1913. The idea that the artist decides what is or isn't their own artwork.

I won't bore you with talking more about this but I love this subject.

ps this isn't just a urinal its art.

Jeff Koons

This is from the Celebration series that Jeff Koons did, the balloon dogs were from 1994, which makes these artworks almost as old as me. I have to say these are one of my favourite artworks ever. There is just something with my childhood attached to this. I loved balloon dogs, I now have a mini rose gold one of these, a cheap replica that is a money box that I got from the range for £10.

These are worth over a million each so can never afford a real one.
